5 best notaries in London that make legal paperwork less painful
Sorting through a stack of documents can be very overwhelming, especially when you’re in London and suddenly need a witness for a property transaction abroad. I’ve seen it firsthand, with friends calling me in a panic, unsure where to even start.
So, I helped them hunt down some of the best notaries in London. If you’re in the same boat, don’t worry.
With insights from locals and a close look at credentials and service quality, here’s a shortlist of the ones we think can make the process smoother and stress-free.
How much do notary services cost in London? Notary services in London can start at around £60–£150 per document, depending on the complexity and the provider. Higher-end firms may charge more, especially for business documents or urgent services. |
1. White Horse Notary Public London

Address: 96 White Horse Ln
Phone: +44 20 3817 7502
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
The good thing about White Horse Notary Public is that the one leading it—Muhammed Karim—isn’t just a notary. He’s also a qualified solicitor with a background in company and corporate law.
Some notaries are limited to just verifying documents, but Karim’s dual expertise gives him a broader understanding of what’s at stake. If you’re dealing with legal stuff for businesses, they seem to be a good choice.
Several clients mentioned they were able to get same-day or next-day appointments, even when the situation was urgent.
Their online and remote notarisation service is also another benefit. It’s especially important for people who travel frequently, so having that option adds a layer of convenience.
While they seem to be efficient, we noticed their pricing is on the higher side compared to others. However, in at least one case, a client who had multiple documents managed to get a generous discount.
There’s no guarantee, though. So if you’re on a tighter budget or have lots of documents, it’s worth negotiating early or asking directly about volume discounts.
The process was handled with remarkable efficiency and professionalism
“I was extremely impressed with the service provided by White Horse Solicitors & Notary Public. The process was handled with remarkable efficiency and professionalism, making the entire experience smooth and straightforward. Their communication was clear and timely, and every step was managed with great attention to detail. I highly recommend White Horse Solicitors & Notary Public to anyone seeking a fast and seamless legal service.”

2. Castelo Notaries

Address: 83 Victoria St
Phone: +44 20 3441 5095
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Sunday: Closed
The first thing we noticed about Castelo Notaries is their speed. They offer same-day notary services and can also get your documents legalised, translated, and sent back to you within 24 hours.
They also have mobile notary services, which is great if you’re not up for dragging yourself to an office across town.
One of their standout features, though, is how well they work with clients who need documents for Spain or Portugal. Their team includes Spanish and Portuguese lawyers, so they actually know the legal systems there, not just the language.
We think it’s really useful if you’re buying property abroad, sorting out inheritance stuff, or dealing with cross-border company paperwork. It’s a nice strength, and they clearly own it.
A lot of customers also praised how professional and efficient their team is. One person said they spotted a small spelling mistake on a notarised document right after it was handed over, and called the client back to fix it within minutes.
That said, some people also mentioned confusion over pricing. From what we gathered, it happens when someone gets a few services done at once, and they’re surprised by the final bill.
A detailed quote from the start and clearer communication would probably help with these instances.
I would highly recommend Castelo Notari0es
“A great experience. Cosy and comfortable office. Warm, friendly people, thorough and professional. Dipika was also very understanding and kind towards my wife. I would highly recommend Castelo Notaries.”

“I have had the pleasure of using Castelo Notary services several times now, for Translation, Notarisation and Apostille of multiple documents. They have been friendly, efficient and professional on every occasion, calling me directly when there have been issues to provide swift resolution. I am delighted to recommend them to others who have need of their advice or services.”

3. Sajo Thomas Notary Public

Address: 29 Lincoln’s Inn Fields
Phone: +44 7952 336643
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Sajo’s background is solid. Aside from being a notary, he’s also a qualified solicitor, with experience in both India and the UK.
He worked on dispute resolution, commercial properties, and conveyancing before. His experience can be valuable if you have the same issues.
He handles a wide range of notarial services, like affidavits, powers of attorney, and contracts. But what really caught our attention is how much he focuses on cross-border documents.
That’s a specific niche, and it shows he’s staying up to date with changing requirements in Europe and elsewhere.
When it comes to flexibility, a few clients mentioned he offers appointments outside the normal 9-to-5 without charging extra. Most notaries either close shop at 5 or will happily charge you double for a weekend appointment.
He also speaks multiple languages, including Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam. It’s very helpful if English isn’t your first language and you’re dealing with legal jargon.
Pricing came up a few times in a good way too. One person said he was the cheapest option by far after checking several others.
If we had to nitpick, we noticed he doesn’t seem to have a remote service. You really have to book an appointment to see him if you’re considering him.
He was very reasonable compared to other solicitors around the area
“Mr Thomas provided an amazing service for me to receive a notary in less than an hour turnaround time without an appointment. I could not fault the quality of his work and the service that was provided in a very urgent situation. Additionally, he was very reasonable compared to other solicitors around the area. He solved a big problem for me that would have otherwise cost me more annual leave.”

We got everything done very quickly and efficiently
“I went to Sajo last year regarding double nationality, and after searching several notaries and quotes, Sajo was the cheapest BY FAR. He was very responsive, professional, and we got everything done very quickly and efficiently. I promised him I’d leave a review, but forgot, and I just remembered now that I just recommended Sajo to a friend of mine. Couldn’t recommend enough!”

4. Vanner Perez Notaries

Address: 75 King William St
Phone: +44 20 3668 6626
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Vanner Perrez offers the usual stuff you’d expect, like notarising powers of attorney, affidavits, company documents, and more. Nothing flashy about that on its own. What makes them a bit more interesting is how they seem to get the international angle right.
They’ve got whole departments dedicated to German and Spanish documents. The notaries and staff actually speak those languages and understand the legal systems they’re dealing with.
It’s useful if you’re sending papers abroad and don’t want them bounced back with a big red no.
Their notaries also provide custom certificates depending on where your document’s going. That way, you’re not stuck in legal limbo because something wasn’t worded the right way.
We heard a story from a client about when the Royal Mail messed up. The firm didn’t bat an eye, and they just redid the job without a fuss.
The staff, including names like Samantha and Beatrice, got a lot of love for being kind, clear, and just really helpful in general too.
Also, while their pricing is transparent, they’re probably not your cheapest option if you’re just getting one or two documents done and you’re not in a rush.
It was genuinely seamless and effortless
“Beatrice at Vanner Perez Notaries was excellent. I needed to get my daughter’s birth certificate attested by the FCDO and the UAE Embassy. And she managed the whole process so efficiently and professionally. It was genuinely seamless and effortless. Would highly recommend.”

5. MSC Notaries

Address: Regus Building, 16 Upper Woburn Pl
Phone: +44 20 8907 2699
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
MSC Notaries is very efficient and a good choice for those who have stacks of documents needed for notarisation. People said the whole process was quick, well-explained, and didn’t cost too much.
One name that we kept hearing was Simon. He seems to be the go-to notary there, and clients really like him. They said he’s good at keeping everything stress-free.
A big win for MSC is that they offer remote and online notarisation. You can get your documents notarised without ever stepping foot in their office. It’s great for busy people who don’t want to wrestle with London traffic.
We also liked that they offer in-house translations in languages like Gujarati, Spanish, and Portuguese.
From what we know, this means fewer moving parts for clients and fewer opportunities for errors in legalised translations. It’s crucial when documents are going to be used overseas.
That said, we heard about someone where someone showed up for her appointment, only to find out the notary wasn’t there. It turned out the booking hadn’t been recorded at all.
It sounds to be a one-time thing, but for peace of mind, we’d recommend confirming your appointment more than once.
They got all the documents completed in good time
“Excellent experience with MSC Notaries. We had a lot of documents to complete. Simon paid great attention to detail, helped us understand everything and get all documents completed in good time. Considering we had so many documents, the cost for all documents was extremely reasonable. Thank you, Simon! It’s been an amazing experience.”

They were so helpful, and the actual service itself was so quick for such a reasonable price – I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Thank you to everyone involved, you made such a stressful time so much easier to manage.”
