5 Best Wedding Venues in Birmingham to Elevate Your Big Day

  • Venue Vibe: We checked out the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of each location. It's super important that the architectural features actually suit a romantic wedding vibe.

  • Space Flexibility: We looked at how well each space handles different guest numbers and seating layouts. A great spot should seamlessly adapt to your specific event style without feeling cramped or empty.

  • On-Site Perks: Availability of bridal suites, decent parking, and solid accessibility features were high on our list. These little amenities make a massive difference for the comfort of your guests.

  • Catering Options: Food is a big deal, so we evaluated the quality of in-house catering and the flexibility of their vendor policies. We want to make sure you have the freedom to curate a menu that fits your taste and budget.
  • Support Team: We assessed how professional and helpful the venue staff and planning coordinators are. Having a solid team on your side keeps the stress levels way down on the actual day.

1. Secret Space

  • Address: 30 34 River Street, Digbeth
  • Contact: +44 7752 595418
  • Hours: Contact for availability

Finding a spot that lets you build your dream from scratch can be tough, but Secret Space in Digbeth is incredibly versatile.

I recently attended a vintage market here, and seeing the sheer scale of the four distinct rooms made me realize how perfectly it could handle a wedding with seamless transitions from ceremony to after-party.

They host everything from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire operas to craft beer festivals, meaning it’s a total blank canvas for your decor.

Plus, they offer fantastic perks for National Health Service (NHS) workers and custom VIP packages with dedicated hosts.

But, just a heads-up, the raw, industrial vibe is definitely not traditional. Also, because it’s right in the bustling heart of Digbeth, the surrounding streets can get pretty noisy and busy on weekends.

Pros

  • Four separate event rooms
  • Total blank canvas customization
  • Main entrance wheelchair ramp
  • Dedicated party package hosts

Cons

  • Raw industrial aesthetic isn’t traditional
  • Bustling surrounding neighborhood

2. Grand Botanical Suite

grand-botanical-suite

If a highly modern, luxurious entrance is your style, you’ll definitely appreciate the unique glass runway right down the middle of this venue.

Grand Botanical Suite is brilliant at handling totally tailored cultural celebrations, whether you need halal catering, a mandap, or private prayer spaces.

I love that planning here is pretty stress-free because they keep an event planner, custom Digital Multiplex (DMX) lighting, and a floral team all under one roof.

Plus, they boast massive parking facilities for up to 250 cars and even offer valet and luxury chauffeur services, which is a lifesaver in the city.

The only real downside is that you’re locked into using their partnered caterers for the bespoke world cuisine. On top of that, you actually have to book the venue before you get to do your menu tasting.

Pros

  • Unique modern glass runway
  • Specialized cultural wedding setups
  • Massive parking for 250 cars
  • In-house floral and decor team

Cons

  • Restricted to partnered catering vendors
  • No menu tasting before booking

Seamless and Memorable Experience

The staff overall were excellent, the atmosphere was fantastic and the whole day ran smoothly. Weddings can often be stressful environments but Grand Botanical Suites created an experience that felt seamless and memorable.

A massive thank you to Junaid and the team — experiences like this are why people remember venues long after the event itself. I would happily recommend Grand Botanical Suites to friends and family and would look forward to attending future events here.

Exceptional and Professional Event Management

We recently celebrated our wedding at The Grand Botanical Venue in Birmingham on Sunday 12th April, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

A huge thank you to Amran and Sunayna, who were exceptional in managing the event on the evening. Their organisation, professionalism, and calm presence ensured everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy every moment of our special day. They handled every detail seamlessly and were always on hand to support us and our guests, which made a real difference.

3. The Marigold

  • Address: 187 Brookvale Road, Witton
  • Contact: 0121 686 6666 | [email protected]
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 11:00AM–6:00PM | Saturday to Sunday 10:30AM–5:30PM

Families looking for a strictly alcohol-free and fully halal or vegetarian space will love the setup at The Marigold.

They’re perfectly built for traditional cultural events, offering two separate halls for easy guest segregation and dedicated prayer rooms for men and women.

My cousin booked this spot a couple of years ago, and I remember the monumental Victorian cast-iron gazebo in their landscaped garden being an absolutely stunning backdrop for the photos.

Caterers also get to use an incredible commercial-grade kitchen equipped with nine burners and walk-in fridges.

However, the financial side is quite strict. They require a non-refundable 50% deposit upfront, and if you cancel within six months, you’re still legally bound to pay the remaining balance.

There’s also an extra refundable cleaning deposit just for using the kitchen.

Pros

  • Fully alcohol-free environment
  • Two halls for guest segregation
  • Landscaped garden with iron gazebo
  • On-site parking for 170 cars

Cons

  • Rigid non-refundable cancellation policies
  • Extra kitchen cleanup fee for caterers

Brilliant and Professional Wedding Planning

Throughout,  from the planning, months earlier to the actual day last weekend, Wajid brilliantly and professionally organised my daughter’s wedding event.  The advice he gave,  based on his years of experience was welcome and helpful ensuring things went seamlessly. Together with Taiba on the evening itself,  they personally ensured it was exactly as my daughter had wanted it, managed to the minute. I would recommend the venue to anyone to put yourself in his hands… Fantastic professionalism..10/10.

Beautiful Decor and Polite Staff

Attended my Neices Wedding on 30th Aug 2022.

Lovely Venue. Beautiful Decor 👌

This is my second visit at Marigold and have to say the venue looked amazing.

Staff were very polite,  friendly and Professional. Excellent customer service. Thank you Marigold for your Hospitality.

4. Digbeth Hall

digbeth-hall
  • Website: digbethhall.com
  • Address: 111-115 New Canal Street, Digbeth
  • Contact: 0121 643 1122 | [email protected]
  • Hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00AM–10:00PM | Sunday 12:00PM–10:00PM | General inquiry available 24/7

Hosting a massive guest list doesn’t have to mean sacrificing city-center convenience. Digbeth Hall can easily accommodate up to 750 guests while providing loads of on-site parking.

What really makes them stand out is having the first indoor marquee in Birmingham, which means you can even drive a luxury car right into the hall for an epic entrance.

They specialize heavily in Asian and Muslim weddings, offering a 100% non-alcoholic environment and an all-in-one package that includes planners, custom decor, and stage lighting.

They also add super fun extras like indoor sparklers and massive chocolate fountains.

Just keep in mind that their very niche cultural focus and strict no-alcohol policy might not be the best fit if you’re leaning toward a classic, Western-style reception with an open bar.

Pros

  • Unique drive-in indoor marquee
  • Generous capacity for 750 guests
  • Dedicated in-house event planners
  • Plentiful city center parking spaces

Cons

  • Strictly alcohol-free premises
  • Styling is highly culturally specialized

Perfect Décor and Delicious Food

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Digbeth Wedding Hall! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The décor was stunning and beautifully done exactly how we wanted — it truly transformed the venue. The food was delicious, well presented, and enjoyed by all our guests, with many compliments throughout the day.

Spacious Venue and Professional Staff

We had our wedding at this hall, and everything was absolutely perfect. The venue was spacious, beautifully decorated, and well-maintained. The staff were extremely professional and helpful throughout the event. The lighting and ambiance created a magical atmosphere. Parking facilities were also very convenient for guests. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stress-free and elegant wedding venue!

5. The Pickwick Hall

the-pickwick-hall

Total location freedom is a massive perk. That’s why we love how The Pickwick Hall will actually set up a customized marquee wedding venue at whatever location you choose.

If you decide to stick with their own sports ground in Birmingham, it’s wonderfully private and offers great scenery for your photoshoot.

With over 15 years of experience, they’re all about personalization, tailoring the capacity, budget, and entertainment to your exact vision alongside their experienced planners.

But you should know that their posted contact hours are strictly 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This can make getting hold of them a little tricky if you work during the day.

Also, their marketing is heavily focused on marquee setups, making their permanent indoor options a bit unclear.

Pros

  • Flexible mobile marquee options
  • Over fifteen years of experience
  • Fully customizable event packages
  • Scenic and private sports ground

Cons

  • Limited evening customer service hours
  • Heavy focus on marquee tents over buildings
