Finding a dance school that grows with you is rare, but the Nicole O’Donnell Dance Academy really nails it. You can start training here in early childhood and easily continue right into adulthood!
They’ve been running since 2006, offering a massive variety of classes from commercial dance to musical theatre.
I actually checked out one of their adult sessions recently, and the teaching quality blew me away.
The teachers are fully qualified, insured, and hold Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) checks. It just feels like a highly professional, incredibly well-rounded environment for anyone serious about learning.
Plus, students who want a bigger challenge can optionally join their competition pathway. It’s easily the most robust setup I’ve seen in the city for long-term growth.
However, they have a strict policy regarding leaving or changing classes. You have to provide at least one-month written notice.

Stepping into a studio as a grown-up can feel intimidating. Dance Glasgow fixes this by dedicating their space entirely to adult learners and returning childhood dancers.
They cater to absolutely all ability levels, so absolute beginners feel just as welcome as advanced performers.
They run sessions across three different locations in the City Centre and West End.
You can choose from an impressive lineup that includes ballet, tap, contemporary, heels, and even barre fitness. They also offer fun private sessions for weddings and hen parties.
That said, for parents who are looking to enrol their children, they don’t have classes available for children and teens.
Moreover, they have a strict policy about cancelling and rescheduling classes. You must notify them at least eight hours in advance, which might not be possible if the reason is an emergency.

3. JaivaHouse | Afrofusion Dance Classes

Website: https://jaivahouse.com/
Address: 22 Jamaica St
Contact: [email protected]
JaivaHouse provides a supportive way to connect with culture through movement. They focus deeply on African diaspora styles like Afrofusion, Afrobeats, and Amapiano.
Chinyanta, an all-around Afro dance enthusiast, brings so much heart to these sessions. A friend of mine took her in-person foundation class and raved about the energetic vibe.
She teaches the physical steps while explaining the cultural context behind every move. It adds a really meaningful layer to the whole workout.
They also offer a solid online Beginner Basics tutorial library if you can’t make it to their physical venue. This flexible setup makes it super easy to learn at your own pace.
That said, their specialization limits their styles. You can’t find non-African genres such as ballet or salsa here.

Academia de Salsa proudly operates as Scotland’s largest and longest-running salsa school. Their beginner program requires zero previous experience and you don’t even need to bring a partner!
They offer a very handy £60 six-week unlimited package for new students. You can attend classes just once a week or drop in as often as you like during that period. It’s a brilliant way to immerse yourself in the rhythm and learn quickly.
They also host free weekly social nights at venues like Revolution de Cuba and Arta. These social events give you the perfect excuse to practice your new moves in a totally relaxed setting.
