Hours: Daily: 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM

Perhaps you’d love to sing your favourite song and play the accompaniment yourself. At Singing and Piano Lessons, you can explore both skills with Yina rather than coordinating two teachers.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or already playing confidently, she welcomes beginners and advanced students. Her classical, pop, crossover and musical theatre tuition caters to graded exams or simply making music for pleasure.

Along the way, you’ll learn from someone whose teaching background includes London Piano School and The Hampshire Independent School in Chelsea. That experience adds to the appeal of keeping your piano and vocal tuition with one tutor.

For busy diaries, the Victoria studio’s daily 9:30 AM–9:30 PM opening hours offer scope for arranging lessons. We like that it’s within walking distance of the station, too.

That said, getting there from outer London may add a lengthy commute. Consider whether that journey fits your week before making lessons a regular date.

Pros

  • Piano and singing tuition with the same teacher
  • Welcomes beginners and advanced students
  • Classical, pop, crossover and musical theatre styles
  • Lessons for graded exams or personal enjoyment
  • Teaching experience at London Piano School and The Hampshire Independent School
  • Victoria studio within walking distance of the station
  • Open daily

Cons

  • Regular studio visits may involve a lengthy commute from outer London

One of the finest learning environments in London

My child began learning vocal skills with Yina at the age of 3 and started piano lessons at 3 and a half. Yina has been an excellent teacher for beginners, and my child has progressed so rapidly that he is now the best piano player in his school. Her home offers one of the finest learning environments in London, and even her cat is incredibly adorable and friendly.

She brings joy and success to all levels

Yina is an amazing teacher; she’s professional and friendly. She’s well trained in both piano and opera singing, and teaches adults and children. Her studio is conveniently located in Central London, and you get to learn on a grand piano in a very nice setting. She teaches remotely as well. She hosts recitals for the students, and she brings joy and success to all levels.

Address: 159-161 Lambeth Walk

Hours: Monday to Tuesday: 3 PM to 7:30 PM, Wednesday: 2 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday: 3 PM to 7:30 PM, Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM, Sunday: 9 AM to 5:30 PM

Little fingers don’t always fancy sitting through a serious piano lesson. Thankfully, The Music Boutique brings play into early learning, with infant specialist Roslyn Williams and programmes including Poco Piano and Tiny Tinkles.

As children find their feet musically, families can choose private tuition or Club Class group learning. Musical puppets add character to lessons, while group activities encourage rhythm, confidence and teamwork.

For a first taste, the £120 Discovery Trial offers three weeks of mix-and-match exploration across piano, drums, guitar and keyboard. It’s a chance to explore which instrument catches your child’s interest before continuing.

Beyond its Lambeth Walk premises, the school offers children’s home tuition by appointment. We appreciate how its separate Jazz Piano Pure programme provides another avenue through private sessions and small classes.

However, home tuition comes with travel charges on top of lesson fees. You’ll pay an extra £25 per session in Zone 1 or £30 in Zone 2.

  • Playful early-years piano teaching with Roslyn Williams
  • Private tuition and Club Class group learning
  • Poco Piano and Tiny Tinkles programmes

Truly exceptional

Ms. Roslyn’s music and piano lessons for little ones are truly exceptional. She has an incredible gift for helping children absorb key musical fundamentals, from notes and rhythm to finger technique and musical expression, through joyful, imaginative play. My daughter absolutely loves her lessons. As a researcher in child cognition, I can confidently say that the way Ms. Roslyn builds understanding and technique through such clever activities, attuned to children’s interests and learning stage, is truly outstanding. This is a great investment in your child’s lasting love for music.

An incredibly safe, creative and inspiring place

Such a local gem. An incredibly safe, creative and inspiring place. Osho and Rosalyn are so kind and talented. My daughter has only been going to piano lessons for a couple of months, and she already feels at home and is learning so much.

There’s something inviting about pulling up a stool at a grand piano. At West London Piano Teacher, Gianni offers that studio experience alongside home lessons for children and adults of all levels.

He adapts his teaching to your needs, whether you’re tackling your first tune or preparing for ABRSM or Trinity grades. Music theory, arranging and improvisation give you room to explore beyond the exam pieces.

Along the way, Gianni encourages students to listen widely, record their playing and try writing music. We like how his background includes a master’s in Jazz Performance from Guildhall, and that he’s fully DBS-checked.

On the flip side, reaching the West London studio may take a sizeable chunk out of your day if you live across town. For regular studio lessons, that journey deserves a place in your weekly plans alongside practice.

Bringing the best of each student

My son is 9 years old, and he only started his piano lessons last February, but with the great support and constant motivation from his tutor, he’s made such a nice progress. He can play songs, practice independently and is able to correct himself. Gianni is a very friendly teacher who has his ways of bringing the best of each student I believe. He’s always focused, keeping time very well and easy to communicate with. He makes my son proud of what he’s already got and brings it to the higher level of enjoyment and professional skills. …

You know that film theme you can’t stop humming? Matt Duduryn can help you explore it at the piano, with lessons covering TV, film and video-game music alongside classical and pop repertoire.

As you learn, he combines keyboard skills and reading music with the pieces that interest you. Lessons can follow a termly plan or make room for a song you’re eager to tackle.

For flexibility, Matt offers one-to-one and group teaching across in-person and online formats. He provides exam support and separate theory tuition covering melody, harmony, rhythm and composition.

We like the possibilities these offer; London’s live music spots could inspire your next musical project! Bringing those discoveries into lessons gives you another way to shape your learning.

That said, his advertised piano tuition covers beginner to intermediate levels. Advanced pianists seeking performance-diploma coaching may find that scope too limited for their next step.

Pros

  • Classical, pop, TV, film and video-game repertoire
  • Lessons shaped around your interests and goals
  • Termly plans or flexible song choices
  • One-to-one and group teaching options
  • In-person and online formats
  • Exam support available
  • Separate music-theory tuition, including composition

Cons

  • Piano tuition covers beginner to intermediate levels, limiting its fit for advanced diploma preparation

Hours: Monday–Friday: 2:30 PM–9 PM, Saturday: 8:30 AM–6 PM, Sunday: 9 AM–6 PM

Your living room needn’t be the only place that hears your piano playing. Luckily, East London Piano pairs personalised tuition with student concerts, masterclasses and twice-yearly recitals, giving you opportunities to share your progress.

Since opening in 2011, the school has developed three teaching studios in Hackney. It welcomes children and adults, with private, group and online options alongside an annual scholarship for an outstanding young musician.

You can also expect regular tutor feedback, with weekly homework updates to help keep practice on track.

We like how exam preparation and studio competitions offer further goals, while the school’s tutors are DBS-checked and members of professional music bodies.

Do note that missed lessons generally don’t qualify for credit, and withdrawal after the two-session trial follows term-based notice requirements. If your diary frequently changes, that commitment may prove trickier than the music itself.

Pros

  • Personalised tuition for children and adults
  • Private, group and online lesson options
  • Student concerts, masterclasses and twice-yearly recitals
  • Regular tutor feedback and weekly homework updates
  • Exam preparation and studio competitions
  • Annual scholarship for an outstanding young musician

Best piano school in London with great teachers

Best piano school in London with great teachers. Our child has been playing with East London Piano since 4y/o and it’s been a joyful, continuous progress; always played much better than peers with other piano teachers/schools.
The teaching is structured yet fun, with ABRSM grade exams as milestones. Variety of musical exercises for a holistic understanding of music.
The school is very organised and professional with excellent communication. Highly recommended!

Many other interesting musical opportunities

Both my son and daughter have been taking lessons with East London Piano for many years. They have always enjoyed the lessons and love their teacher. We’ve always found the quality of the teaching very high and super reliable. The school also offers many other interesting musical opportunities outside of the usual lessons, like Summer/Winter concerts, competitions, summer piano camps and more, which is a great bonus! Our communication with the management has always been clear and helpful. We thoroughly recommend East London Piano to anyone who’s looking for a good piano school in the area.
