The 5 best catering services in Newcastle that bring the party to the table
There’s a very specific kind of panic that hits when you realise just how much people care about food at an event. I remember standing in a great wedding venue when someone suddenly leaned over and whispered, “The chicken’s a bit dry.”
That’s the thing about events. The food quietly becomes the main event. People might compliment the decor, but they remember the meal. And in a city packed with creative caterers, there’s no excuse for playing it safe with a standard buffet.
So after plenty of taste-testing, we’ve rounded up the best caterers in Newcastle. These are the ones who go beyond the basics and make sure your event is talked about for all the right reasons.
How much does catering cost in Newcastle?
Catering in Newcastle typically costs around £20–£40 per person, with simpler buffets at the lower end. More elaborate, full-service meals are at the higher end.
1. Jacob & Tori Caterers

Address: John Buddle Work Village, Buddle Rd
Phone: +44 191-244-9690
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
There’s a certain type of caterer that plays it safe. They pick a cuisine, stick to a format, and don’t stray too far. Then there’s Jacob & Tori Caterers, who seem to take the opposite approach, and it works!
Their biggest strength is their flexibility. Clients loved how the team tried to build a menu with them.
Usually, they mix British dining with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, which gives them a wide creative range.
Clients aren’t also boxed into a single catering style. They can do refined plated meals, then switch gears to BBQ spreads, gourmet burgers, or Lebanese-style sharing platters. They seem to be the unsung heroes for party planners.
We also have to give an extra point for how accommodating the team is with menu and timing changes. Even short-notice orders can find comfort here.
That said, their pricing is more mid-to-high end. Those who are looking for a simple drop-off buffet at a minimum spend can look at their options.
I highly rate this catering company
“I highly rate this catering company. They were able to cater for my mum’s 80th birthday at short notice. They helped with menu choice and provided all the information I needed. The food arrived on time and was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend. Would definitely use again.”

2. Jackson’s Catering

Address: John Buddle Work Village, Buddle Rd
Phone: +44 191-265-2177
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
The first thing that stood out to us about Jackson’s Catering is its structured approach. They include delivery and setup as standard.
You also don’t have to stress about who’s going to serve because they also provide waitstaff to manage the service. This gives events a more controlled operation.
From what we’ve heard from clients, communication is great. They’re approachable, can accommodate dietary restrictions, and are quick to address any issues.
One person specifically mentioned working with Emma, who guided menu choices. She also ensured proper food labelling with no cross-contamination.
We also loved their flexibility. Besides the standard buffets, they also do finger and fork buffets, BBQs, street food setups, and even more traditional options, like afternoon tea.
That said, not everything is flawless. We’ve heard of a feedback where the team arrived hours earlier than scheduled, leaving food sitting out before guests arrived. It seems to be a one-time thing, though.
Outstanding service!
“We hired Jacksons Catering for our wedding in September 2025 and from the first enquiry, the staff were very friendly and always quick to respond to questions. They were very accommodating with our guests having several dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Their catering was seamless and they did a fantastic job of putting everything together for our hot wedding breakfast buffet. It was just what we were looking for and the food was absolutely delicious. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food and how friendly and attentive the staff were. We are so pleased with the entire service that Jacksons Catering provided and we would highly recommend them for any event! Thankyou so much – outstanding service!”

All communication beforehand was sensitive but efficient
“Emma and Co catered for my husband’s funeral recently. All communication beforehand was sensitive but efficient. The food was left at the time agreed and the guests were very complimentary. Emma gave good advice on how much food we’d need and was spot on. We would recommend her highly.”

3. Dotty In The Kitchen

Address: 88 Ponteland Rd, Cowgate
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Dotty In The Kitchen is the catering for clients who actually want that involvement, where food is a central part of the experience.
At the heart of it is Dorothy. She can recreate dishes and build menus around people. That “bespoke” label gets thrown around a lot in catering, but here it actually shows up in feedback.
One couple mentioned how their wedding menu was shaped entirely around their tastes, with a tasting session that felt like a collaboration.
We also noticed that they balance refinement and comfort. The food leans modern British with a strong seasonal backbone.
They usually incorporate locally sourced ingredients, high-welfare meats, and menus that shift depending on what’s at its best.
Their team is very adaptable. They adjust to group size, pacing, and add creative touches. In sophisticated events, they sometimes offer wine pairings too!
This isn’t a service trying to compete on price, though. With starting points around £280+ for smaller events, it’s clearly positioned in the premium tier.
She was super helpful and communicative
“Can very highly recommend Dotty in the Kitchen, who kindly catered our small wedding! Dotty planned the most amazing, bespoke menu based on our preferences/taste. She was super helpful and communicative. We had a lovely time meeting Dotty at our food tasting – she was so warm and hospitable, and we loved having personal insight into what goes on behind the scenes. The wedding meal happened without a hitch with Dotty and her lovely team. Our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had! The crispy chicken skin canapes, scallops, home-made bread were in particular incredible and are still being talked about today. It really was wonderful and really appreciate all your help!”

4. Olivia’s Kitchen

Address: Unit 2, 3 Fells Rd, Team Valley, Gateshead
Phone: +44 191-300-9919
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Friday to Sunday: Closed
A good caterer doesn’t just stop at providing food, but also considers how the food is delivered on-site. Well… Olivia’s Kitchen has its own refrigerated delivery fleet.
Food arrives hot when it should be hot, fresh when it should be fresh, and on time. Considering that and their easy ordering setup, it seems like they’ve mastered the art of logistics to make the process stress-free for clients.
Multiple clients also highlighted their presentation and labelling, especially around dietary requirements.
One guest with allergies mentioned her food was separated, packaged and clearly labelled. Small detail, but very worth noting!
Food-wise, they do classic British buffet, including sandwiches, salads, skewers, and more. Feedback also backed up that their food really is delicious. More telling is that they seem to handle scale well.
Just remember that if you’re expecting full-service catering with waitstaff automatically included, you’ll need to plan ahead or budget for add-ons.
There’s always a good selection of freshly prepared food
“Olivia’s Kitchen cater for a weekly meeting I attend, and the food is outstanding. The quality is amazing, and there’s always a good selection of freshly prepared food. Id definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use them for any parties or events that id need catering for.”

5. The Busty Bakery Catering Services

Address: Winnings Courtyard Business Centre, Walbottle Rd, Newburn
Phone: +44 191-250-9191
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8 AM – 2 PM
- Friday: 8 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
There’s something immediately charming about The Busty Bakery Catering Services. They lean hard into comfort, community, and presentation that’s always intentional.
The core of their offering revolves around cold finger buffets and grazing tables. Locally sourced cheeses, cured meats, fresh breads, and housemade chutneys are usually laid out beautifully.
We’ve heard that guests couldn’t stop talking about their grazing setup. It’s great for social gatherings where you want people mingling.
Nicola and her team also seem to have nailed the logistics side. A lot of people mentioned how hands-on they were. Full setup, matching themes, and even providing plates and cutlery.
Their food is also varied and inclusive for those who have dietary restrictions. For wedding clients, you might also want to try their desserts and cakes. They deserve a separate nod too.
That said, their biggest strength is also their biggest limitation. The menu is heavily focused on cold offerings. No steaming pies or roast dinners available here.
We couldn’t have been happier with Busty Bakery
“We couldn’t have been happier with Busty Bakery. From our cake tasting with Nicola to the wedding day itself, everything was perfect. The cake was stunning and tasted incredible, and the dessert table was a huge hit with our guests. They also provided breakfast boxes for my bridal party, which were lovely and just what we needed to get us through the morning. Thank you for helping make our day so special.”
