The 5 best massage places in Manchester for tired bodies and minds
As a writer, I spend most of my day slouched in front of a computer, so it’s no surprise that back pain and stiff shoulders have become part of my daily life.
Maybe that’s why I’ve become such a devoted massage-goer. I make it a point to get a massage every two weeks—not just to relieve my pain, but also as a little reward after days of working.
Over the years, I’ve visited quite a lot of spas in and out of Manchester. Some made me feel like a new person…and others, well, just made everything hurt even more.
But don’t worry! You don’t have to go through the same trial and error. I’ve listed my favourite massage places in Manchester here so you can get a truly relaxing time!
How much do massage places charge in Manchester?
Massage places in Manchester charge around £35–£60 for a standard 60-minute massage. More specialised treatments or longer sessions can cost £70–£120+. Prices vary depending on the type of massage, location, and therapist experience.
1. Orchid Thai Massage & Spa

Address: 62-64 Swan St, M4 5JU
Phone: +44 161 834 0500
Business hours:
- Monday – Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM
I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, quiet and calming Orchid Thai Massage & Spa felt the moment I walked in. The atmosphere made it easy to relax even before the message began.
They offer several treatments, including Thai plan aromatherapy, Swedish, and deep tissue massages. According to the other clients I talked to, each one is customised to your needs.
The therapists use traditional Thai stretches and rhythmic pressure that ease muscle tension and improve flexibility in a noticeable way.
One thing that makes this spa stand out is its happy hour, which runs from 10 AM to 4 PM. This offers guests a £5 discount, making their services more accessible.
Their prices for both 30-minute and 60-minute sessions fall within Manchester’s average range, while the higher-priced Four Hands Massage is still comparable to similar treatments in the city.
Booking is easy because they accept online, phone, and walk-in bookings, depending on availability. Speciality services, such as Couples Massage or Four Hands Massage, may require advance notice, as they tend to fill up quickly.
Many customers praise the staff for being warm, friendly, and attentive, which matches my own experience during the visit. Some people do mention that the pressure can feel quite strong at the beginning, but the therapist adjusts it immediately when asked.
Truly relaxing and rejuvenating massage experience
“I had an incredible experience here. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calm, clean, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The staff were professional and genuinely attentive, making sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. Especial mention to Jenny.
My therapist was amazing (Jenny) —highly skilled and intuitive. They really listened to my concerns and focused on the areas I needed most. The massage was both relaxing and therapeutic, leaving me feeling refreshed and free of tension.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality care and a truly rejuvenating experience. I’ll definitely be back!”
2. NiniSpa

Address: Block 6, Spectrum, Blackfriars Rd, Manchester M3 7BS
Phone: +44 7876 173254
Business hours:
- Monday – Sunday: 10 AM – 6:30 PM
NiniSpa truly is a place where luxury meets genuine care.
The moment you step inside, the scent of essential oils and soft instrumental music instantly sets a calm mood. The warm lighting and minimalist design make it feel like you’ve left the noise of the city miles behind.
I chose Nini Signature Massage, which lasts 70 minutes and costs £81. It’s a relaxing mix of dry brushing, hot stone therapy, and freestyle tissue massage with organic GMT Beauty oils.
The therapist seemed to know exactly what to do, and she used just the right amount of pressure to relieve stress and tight muscles.
I also love that they offer facials and spa rituals that combine modern beauty treatments with more traditional ones. It makes it easier for customers to get all the pampering they want in one place.
They utilise high-tech tools and natural products in their electric facial treatments and microneedling facials to help you achieve visible results without discomfort.
One downside to know is that bookings require prepayment. The pricing also fits a premium spa experience, so it might not be ideal for someone looking for a budget-friendly visit.
A wonderful and refreshing spa visit
“I recently visited this massage salon and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The atmosphere feels like a cozy spa — stylish interior, soft lighting, and relaxing aromas.
The therapist is a true professional, attentive to every detail and working with deep understanding of the body. I was especially impressed with the high-quality cosmetics they use — gentle, beautifully scented, and leaving the skin feeling amazing.
After the session, I felt refreshed, relaxed, and full of energy. This is definitely a place I will return to again and again”

Address: 58 Swan St, M4 5JU
Phone: +44 161 834 4900
Business hours:
Monday – Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM
The Lotus Traditional Thai Massage & Spa is in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The soft music, dim lighting, and light scent of lemongrass made the place feel calm and welcoming.
The room is simple, clean, and nothing fancy. I got the impression that the spa focuses on skills over luxury.
I tried the 60-minute traditional Thai massage to see how it compared with other local spots. The therapist used firm stretches and rhythmic pressure to ease tension without making me feel rushed.
They also offer deep-tissue, hot-stone, Swedish, and couples massages. Treatments for sports injuries are also available. That range makes it a solid choice for both relaxation and recovery.
Prices are reasonable, starting at £30 for 30 minutes and increasing to £45 for an hour. This is a bit less than what most massage spas in Manchester charge for the level of service, so they’re a good choice for those with a tighter budget.
It’s also open every day until 10 PM, so people can relax after work. It can get busy quickly, but the massages make up for the occasional wait times.
Relaxing massage with friendly and welcoming staff
“Wonderful and friendly staff. I went with my partner and it was a very relaxing experience. I will be going again. My only comment is that I asked for a deep tissue massage and for the most part felt like a relaxing massage.
I asked the masseuse several times for more pressure and sometimes she would apply it and then go back to a relaxing massage. I felt good afterwards either way.”

The staff was friendly and helpful, and they thoroughly explained their extensive list of treatments to me. These included aromatherapy, herbal compresses, traditional Thai massages, and deep tissue massages.
The therapist had a special way of working that was firm when necessary and gentle throughout. They eliminated knots and stress we didn’t even know we had.
The best part was how well everything was taken care of. The rooms were clean, and the furniture was traditional Thai in style.
You could also mix and match treatments, such as reflexology and an Indian head massage, to make your stay even more special.
The prices range from £45 to £90, which is a good deal for the quality. The added convenience of free parking and flexible scheduling makes it even easier to plan the visit.
Exceptional massage that melts away stress and tension
“Had a great neck, back and shoulders massage today, I really feel rejuvenated, more pain free and relaxed.
Relaxing and calm atmosphere, good communication from venue beforehand (they rang me to confirm my appointment and also to let me know they were running behind a bit)
and during the appointment (checking that I was comfortable, warm enough etc.) all very clean, tidy and professional.
I think my therapist worked about 20 years of stress out of body in just one hour! Thank you so much, I will be coming back again!”
