Professor Prakash leads the team, and he stands out for his genuine care for his patients’ health. Instead of jumping straight to surgery, he seeks ways to keep his patients’ joints healthy for as long as possible.
We like that he uses conservative treatments, like advanced injection therapies, before suggesting anything more invasive. One patient told us she felt reassured knowing she could try these options first for her hip pain.
One footballer appreciated that instead of rushing into a knee replacement, he was guided through keyhole surgery and a targeted rehab plan. This allowed him to get back to the pitch sooner.
He also has experience with mobile-bearing knee replacements and cartilage transplants, so even patients with tricky cases aren’t turned away. One runner shared that after a cartilage transplant, she was able to get back to jogging without pain.

One runner we spoke to was back to jogging within months after a tricky ankle replacement. He credits Dr Prem’s steady hand for making it possible.
He also has a knack for tackling rare foot problems, like spring ligament ruptures and peroneal spastic flat feet.
One woman with a stubborn flat foot said she’d seen three other doctors before Dr Prem figured out the real issue and got her walking pain-free again.

It’s also impressive how well they handle tricky cases. One patient told us he came in after a failed meniscus repair somewhere else and ended up walking out with his mobility back after an arthroscopic revision from Birmingham Knee and Shoulder Clinic.
The team doesn’t just tick boxes with their audits and outcome tracking too. They actually use the results to fine-tune care. For example, a patient’s rehab plan was changed halfway through to speed up her recovery after ACL surgery.
The orthopaedic specialists here don’t rush to operate, either. We like how they walk their patients through all the non-surgical options before discussing surgery, which really puts many nervous patients at ease.
The only downside is the 20-minute wait in the waiting room. One guy told us he hadn’t factored in how inconvenient it was to wait before seeing the doctor.

They cover everything from nagging foot and ankle pain to hydrotherapy sessions and advanced scans. Even cancer care and physio for pain management are offered in the clinic.
One patient we spoke to managed to get his bone tumour sorted and start physio, all without having to hunt down another specialist or switch hospitals.
What also stood out to us was how the staff keep things clear at every step. At the pre-op appointment, the specialists walk patients through their scan results and explain what will happen next.
Another patient appreciated that, even after the procedure, her orthopaedic specialist followed up and provided practical rehab tips she could use at home.
The only real downside is the wait. Getting an appointment can take a week or so.
