She wasn’t paranoid… something was off. If you’ve been through something similar, you know how unsettling it can feel.
But there is something you can do, and that’s what we did: hire a private investigator to get some answers. We asked around the city and did our own research to find someone that can help us.

Anderson & Co. is not a big, flashy agency, but we think it’s one of its strengths. They keep things small and focused. This means if you hire them, you deal directly with the investigator handling your job.
They really take surveillance seriously. Most of their team has a professional background. They usually work in pairs too. This gives them better coverage and makes it easier to adapt if things get unpredictable.
It’s also impressive that they’ve got some high-end gear, like bug sweep tech and covert audio/video setups.
If you’re worried about being watched or need solid evidence, they know how to find the truth without setting off alarm bells.
They even have experienced female operatives, which is a smart option for blending in during certain jobs.

What grabbed our attention right away is that Prometheus Investigations is the only private investigation firm in Birmingham offering fingerprint lifting and analysis.
They’ve got a whole system built for it. They’ll come to your location, whether it’s a home or an office, and collect items discreetly.
They also run the prints through digital software to enhance and compare them. It’s not crime scene investigation (CSI), but it’s not far off.
Besides the forensic stuff, they handle the usual PI jobs. They can do surveillance, background checks, and cheating partner cases.
From what we gathered, they put real thought into each strategy. One person we talked to who was dealing with corporate espionage described their approach as “military precision,” which we kind of love.
That said, their rates are more pricey than the ones we’ve looked into. Still, they offer a free, confidential consultation, which is a nice way to test the waters with them.
Also, just keep in mind that while their forensic offering is rare and helpful, it’s still not a replacement for the kind of analysis you’d get from a proper police lab.

Sentry Private Investigators Ltd (SPI) is really good at surveillance. They do it in a way that doesn’t blow the operation. Their agents are trained, precise, and have been doing this long enough to know what works.
They also do bug sweeping. One client we spoke to said her flat was swept inch by inch, and her phone was checked out for spyware.
She said Ben, one of their investigators, explained everything in plain language and was genuinely kind. He even drove three hours to get there, which we appreciated.
Another client has even mentioned that Ben worked a case during the holidays and helped someone track repeat bail breaches with organised surveillance footage.
If you’re trying to find someone, SPI offers tracing services that often come back with results in under 24 hours. It’s not magic, but they just know where to look.
We liked that they run a “no find, no fee” policy (with a term, of course), which makes it feel a bit less risky if you’re unsure.
However, they’re not the cheapest. Formal reports from surveillance aren’t even included in the base price. It’s an extra £59.

Aspyr Investigations has a nice range of surveillance techniques. Most investigators tend to stick with one or two methods, but they go all in. They do mobile surveillance, static stakeouts, and even go undercover when needed.
For us, this shows us their flexibility. It’s important when an investigation needs to shift gears quickly.
Since their work is super tailored to each case, it might not be the fastest turnaround. But honestly, it seems worth the wait. From what we saw, they care more about getting it right than rushing it.
Beyond surveillance, they also handle background checks, person tracing, and fraud investigations.
We were impressed that they even offer polygraph tests, which is pretty rare in this line of work, especially in the UK.
Almost everyone we heard from mentioned how easy they are to deal with. Rikki’s name came up a lot. People said he’s calm, responsive, and doesn’t talk in riddles.
We also liked that they give free consultations upfront. It’s great if you’re not even sure what kind of help you need yet.
Plus, they also write up proper reports that can be used in court. It’s a big deal if your situation ends up in legal territory.
