Step into another world with these 10 best VR experiences in London
No matter how fun real life gets, sometimes I just crave a bit more chaos—the kind you only get when zombies, dinosaurs, or some ridiculous monster is chasing you.
Obviously, if that happened in real life, I’d be screaming my head off. But in my imagination? I’m totally here for the adrenaline rush.
So when that itch for unreal adventure hits, I’ve got the perfect solution, thanks to technology. I rounded up a few friends, strapped on some VR headsets, and dove into some of the best VR experiences London has to offer.
Trust me, these are the spots worth checking out.
1. Sandbox VR
Media credits: sandboxvr_uki
Address: The Post Building, High Holborn
Contact details: +44 20 7082 3001
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10 AM – 11:30 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 12 AM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 11 PM
Price: £££
At Sandbox VR, you suit up like you’re about to star in your own action movie: helmet, haptic vest, and motion sensors. Up to six of you can run around together, see each other in the game, and even high-five.
The game menu has a lot of cool varieties. You can dodge bullets in Deadwood Valley, slay dragons in Dragonfire, survive Squid Game challenges, or go for something lighter like Curse of Davy Jones if you’ve got younger players.
Each session lasts about 30 minutes, but the adrenaline rush makes it feel like time flies.
The space is totally sci-fi chic and so fun. They even have a robot bartender, Toni, casually mixing up to 80 cocktails an hour like it’s no big deal.
Pro tip:
Right after your session, head to the lounge to watch your team’s greatest hits on the big screen. You can even ask them to get a digital copy to share later, so you can relive all your fun moments.

Address: Dickens Yard, Longfield Ave
Contact details: +44 20 3696 5253
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 2 PM – 10 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 10 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 9 PM
Price: ££
Navtar offers a 60-minute free-roam VR adventure, and the space is really big. You get a whole 2,000 square feet to run around in, so no wires or bumping into furniture.
They split the session into two parts. The first 30 minutes are filled with mini-games to warm you up, and then the real fun begins: the zombie survival game Overrun 2.
You strap on a VR backpack, grab a rifle, and enter the arena with your squad. Suddenly, you’re going to find yourself yelling directions, dodging zombie swarms, and unlocking new zones. We had 14 players split into teams, which was very fun.
The staff here are happy to take action shots while you’re in gear. Ask before the session starts so they can time it for the best moments.
Pro tip:
Don’t just leave after the session. The on-site bar is a nice spot for winding down, dissecting your best plays, and challenging your friends to AR darts or pool. Plus, watching the next groups flail around on the big screens is very entertaining.
3. DNA VR
Media credits: dna_vr
Address: 18 Arches Ln, Nine Elms
Contact details: +44 28 7122 0827
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 2:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM
Price: £££
DNA VR’s range of over 50 VR games and experiences genuinely made it hard to pick just one, but the free-roam zombie battle stole the show for us.
The headsets were crystal clear, the controls felt natural, and the VR Masters (aka the game gurus) made sure even the newbies on our team felt like pros. The free-roam bit was so real that half of us forgot where the actual walls were.
Only downside? Time flew by too fast. We booked two sessions and still left wishing we’d squeezed in a third.
It also gets hot inside the area when you’re moving nonstop in a headset, so dress light unless you’re aiming for that sweaty survivor look.
Pro tip:
While kids aged seven and up can play, some games have higher age recommendations due to intensity or content. Check ahead if you’re bringing younger players, and ask the staff for age-appropriate suggestions.
4. The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience
Media credits: thewaroftheworldsimmersive
Address: 56 Leadenhall St
Operating hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: Closed
- Thursday: 10:30 AM – 9:30 PM
- Friday: 10:15 AM – 9:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:15 AM – 10 PM
- Sunday: 10:15 AM – 9:30 PM
Price: £££
Unlike the typical VR games we’ve mentioned, The War of the Worlds is more like stepping into a theatrical production that just happens to have some of the most thrilling VR sequences we’ve experienced. Think of it as part stage play, part cinematic set tour.
Everything was based on Jeff Wayne’s iconic soundtrack, and the atmosphere immediately pulled us in. You’ll find yourself walking, crawling, sliding, and even climbing through the windows.
Along the way, you meet brilliant actors, explore epic sets, and get hit with every effect possible. In one VR scene, we even floated in a hot-air balloon with London sprawling below. It’s safe, but it feels real that your heart will definitely get a workout.
Pro tip:
Arrive 30–40 minutes early. The Spirit of Man bar isn’t just a waiting area—it’s part of the experience. The steampunk decor and giant Martian Fighting Machine make great photo spots, and you can grab themed cocktails before you set off.
5. Omescape VR – Southbank
Media credits: omescapevr
Address: Arch 85 Scoresby St
Contact details: +44 20 7101 3566
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10 AM – 10 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 11 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM
Price: ££
Omescape VR in Southbank is just right between Southwark and Waterloo stations, so getting there is easy.
The space feels sleek and futuristic when you walk in, with wide play zones. It’s also a free-roam setup, so you’re not just standing in one spot. You can move, duck, and explore digital worlds as if you’re there.
If you want a puzzle-heavy adventure, definitely go for the Eclipse. If you want a more action-packed experience with shooting, try Arizona Sunshine.
Everything was also smooth, thanks to the techs. We had one or two tiny hiccups, but the staff handled them instantly without breaking the immersion.
Pro tip:
If you want a challenge, just say so. Some games have difficulty settings. If you breeze through the first one, ask the staff to bump it up next time so you’re not left wishing for more action.
6. meetspaceVR (ft Zero Latency)
Media credits: dineandplay_uk and meetspacevr
Address: BoxPark, Olympic Way, Wembley Park
Contact details: +44 800 088 6911
Operating hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 12 PM – 10 PM
- Sunday: 12 PM – 9 PM
Price: £££
MeetspaceVR is just about 12 minutes from central London, but once you’re in there, you forget the real world exists.
We tried a mix of their experiences, including a round of Warhammer. The technology is seamless, and the visuals are so sharp that it’s easy to forget you’re in a warehouse in Wembley.
For a change of pace, we also tested the VR escape rooms. The Wonderland scenario was full of charm, clever puzzles, and trippy visuals. One of their staff members was also cheering us on. We appreciate how she gave us the right hints when we got stuck.
Pro tip:
Book in advance, especially at weekends. Sessions can fill up fast, and you don’t want to find the available times left clashing with your dinner plans.
7. Thrill Coaster – O2
Media credits: immotionvr_london_o2
Address: The Icon Shopping Centre at The O2
Contact details: +44 330 555 3330
Operating hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 12 PM – 7 PM
- Friday: 12 PM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 11 AM – 8 PM
- Sunday: 11 AM – 7 PM
Price: ££
As soon as we strapped into the multi-directional motion seats and lowered the VR headsets at Thrill Coaster, it felt like a dream. The 360-degree visuals and surround sound do a fantastic job of making you forget you’re sitting still.
The dips, swerves, and rapid turns in the simulation had our whole group bracing and laughing like we were on a real roller coaster.
We also suggest that you choose your city wisely. The Miami is for bigger drops, faster turns, and is recommended if you want maximum adrenaline. The London ride is smoother with scenic swoops over landmarks—better for first timers or younger riders.
It’s £8 for around three minutes, which is a bit “blink and you miss it.”
Pro tip:
If you qualify, flash your Blue Light Card before paying for discounts. You’ll save a bit, and that extra could go toward another VR experience in the ImmotionVR zone.
8. Life Chronicles by Eclipso London
Media credits: eclipso_london
Address: Westfield Stratford City 1, The Street, Ground Floor
Contact details:
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 11 AM – 7 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9 AM – 8 PM
Price: £££
We took a trip through 3.5 billion years of history without even leaving London, thanks to Life Chronicles. It’s a VR adventure that’s part science lesson, part time-travel.
You pop on a lightweight headset and suddenly you’re swimming with microscopic life, hitching a ride on a trilobite, and dodging the wings of a creature. The visuals are big and bold, and the sound makes you feel like you’re really there.
It’s not flawless, though. Some of us noticed the picture was a bit blurry without glasses, and the gap in the headset broke the illusion. Still, it’s a fantastic way to spend your 45 minutes. Kids will love it, and grown-ups will geek out.
Pro tip:
If you’re prone to motion sickness, don’t worry. There’s a small gap in the headset, which may seem like a design flaw, but it’s intentional to reduce dizziness. Focus on objects in the middle or far ranges instead too.
9. DIVR Labs – Westfield London
Media credits: divrlabs_uk
Address: Ariel Way
Contact details: +44 7778 872701
Operating hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 10 AM – 9 PM
- Sunday: 11 AM – 7 PM
Price: £££
Our team tried the Extreme Mission in DIVR Labs and booked via Groupon for £32.35, which was a nice discount from the standard price. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were friendly, clearly knowing how to guide first-timers.
The story design is very cinematic, and we also appreciated that it’s designed in-house. They feel fresh and not like something you’ve played a hundred times before.
Plus, the 4K visuals, 3D sound, and sneaky little extras like feeling the heat of lava or floor vibrations made us forget we were inside a shopping centre.
That said, we’ve heard some instances where the VR kit glitches sometimes.
Pro tip:
Park in Car Park A for the shortest walk. From there, it’s just a short stroll to the ground floor near Five Guys. If anyone in your group also has a mobility aid, call ahead to confirm setup and arena access.
10. Chambvr Virtual Reality
Media credits: chamb_vr3
Address: 8 Buckhold Rd
Contact details: +44 7722 075118
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 2 PM – 9 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 11 AM – 9 PM
Price: ££
Chambr Virtual Reality offers over VR games and experiences, and the variety is impressive. There are shooting, horror, rollercoaster, and even educational adventures.
The tech is amazing too. The headsets are so clear and responsive that in the haunted house, one of us was convinced they felt the floor rumble when the monster showed up (it didn’t… but their scream was 100% real).
The VR rollercoaster was also wild, so we kept grabbing the seats. The Starship and 360 Simulator had us dodging asteroids and chasing enemies like our lives depended on it. Every single game felt so real.
Pro tip:
Pace yourself with intense games. We suggest starting with calmer or puzzle-based games before spiking your adrenaline into the more intense ones. This way, you don’t burn out halfway through.
