1. Tutor In Leeds

Address: 71 The Crescent, Adel
Phone: +44 113-322-7435
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 8 AM – 6:30 PM
Tutor In covers all levels of the UK math curriculum. They tackle primary school basics, KS3, and General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE). They also cover A-Level maths, including calculus.
We also heard about students who came to them for help with 11+ exams, Scholastic Assessment Test (SATs), and exam boards like Edexcel.
Lessons are one-to-one, either online or at home. After an initial chat to understand what’s needed, a tutor is matched, and lessons begin quickly.
There’s homework, regular feedback, and progress checks along the way. We appreciate that if something isn’t working, the tutor adjusts the plan. It’s structured but flexible.
Feedback supports this. One parent shared that whenever a tutor needed to be changed because of scheduling, a new one was arranged quickly.
They’re also great at improving confidence. Another parent shared that her son with autism not only improved in maths but also became more confident overall.
However, we noticed that their rates are pricier than those of other companies.
I can’t recommend Tutor in Leeds enough!
“I can’t recommend Tutor in Leeds enough! Liam not only found us amazing tutors for other subjects, both GCSE and A levels maths and science (both excellent tutors), but he also personally taught them English. Thanks to him both my kids achieved 9’s in English! Very professional and dedicated. Was always flexible and invested in ensuring they both reached their full potential.”

Absolute outstanding tutor
“Absolute outstanding tutor. Our son suffers with ADHD and autism, Liam not only has helped with Maths but also we noticed our sons confidence has also improved. The maths home work year 11 receives is no joke and is way above the level we are at, so we used Liam to help support our son through his maths and assessments.”

Every math tutor at Leeds Tuition Centre holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has at least two years of experience teaching in National Curriculum schools.
This meant a lot to us because they’re not just good at solving equations. They also understand how maths is delivered in schools, how children are assessed, and where common gaps tend to appear.
One of the strongest themes across parent feedback is steady progress. A parent mentioned seeing clear improvement in just a few weeks.
Another shared that she’s witnessed her child grow not just academically but emotionally. The child has built resilience and developed a genuine passion for maths.
The tutors are great at breaking down complex concepts into easy steps. Parents also appreciated receiving feedback after every session.
That said, we heard a comment about a rude interaction over the phone during an enquiry. It seems like an isolated experience compared to all the things we’ve heard, but this is still worth noting.
It shows that while the academic side is strong, the admin experience may not always feel polished.
The team do a really fantastic job
“Our experience at Leeds Tuition Centre with our 10 year old daughter has been brilliant. Special mention to Dimitris who has brought her maths on immensely, so much so that her year 5 report for maths and the improvement shown in her could not have been better! Joanna, John and the team do a really fantastic job and we would always recommend them.”

I am satisfied with the services they provide to the children
“My daughter has been attending Leeds Tuition Centre for a few weeks now and it is clear that she has progressed in some areas of maths. I am certain that with time she will further improve her abilities in maths. The feedback I receive from her tutor after every session helps me understand what areas she isn’t as confident with and how she can improve. Overall, I am satisfied with the services they provide to the children.”

3. Explore Learning Leeds Moortown

Address: 331 Harrogate Rd, Moortown
Phone: +44 113-821-4519
Business hours:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday: 11 AM – 7 PM
- Wednesday to Thursday: 11 AM – 8 PM
- Friday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: Closed
What makes Explore Learning stand out is how it combines in-centre social learning with individual work on smart tools.
Sessions are small, usually up to six kids, so there’s enough attention for each child while still letting them learn alongside peers.
We also liked that the curriculum is personalised and mapped to the national standards. But at the same time, children are encouraged to go beyond their current level. From what parents have said, this seems to spark curiosity and confidence.
The tutors are consistently described as patient, supportive, and encouraging. Kids often leave sessions feeling proud of what they’ve learned.
There’s also a noticeable improvement in both confidence and understanding over time. Progress tracking is thorough, with weekly feedback for parents, in-depth meetings, and access to learning materials like mock papers.
For GCSE maths, they only provide 1:1 online sessions. It’s a flexible option for busy students, but it might not be ideal for those who prefer in-person sessions.
We also heard about reports of the constant change of tutors. Continuity can be affected when kids have to adjust to a new teacher regularly.

4. Thorpe Tuition

Address: 30 Barrowby Rd, Colton
Phone: +44 791-777-2595
Business hours:
- Monday: 11 AM – 8 PM
- Tuesday to Friday: 2 PM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 12 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Thorpe Tuition is run by Sarah, a teacher with over 20 years’ experience and a National Award for Special Educational Need (SEN) Coordination.
She offers structured lessons in maths and English for primary and secondary students. From what our team found, her approach is really helping children feel confident and enjoy learning.
Many parents mentioned how calm and patient she is. One said her daughter had lost confidence in maths. After a few months with Sarah, she started approaching problems calmly and even developed a positive mindset.
Her work with children facing learning challenges, like dyslexia, also stands out. One parent noted that after a screening, Sarah provided clear guidance to the school that finally got the support the child needed.
From our observation, Sarah’s approach combines academic support with emotional reassurance. It’s ideal for children who respond better to encouragement than pressure.
The few practical limitations we found were that Sarah works solo, so availability is limited.
She also only has a Facebook page, no dedicated website. This makes it harder for some families to access her services quickly.
I would highly recommend Sarah
“My daughter Robyn has been going to Sarah since end of October and the process that she has made in this time has been amazing. Robyn had lost all confidence in her maths and week by week we could see this growing back, the tears stopped and Robyn had a much calmer approach. I would highly recommend Sarah, she is calm, kind and very patient. To see Robyn with an improved growth mindset was priceless.”

Business hours:
- Monday: 10 AM – 8:30 PM
- Tuesday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Wednesday to Thursday: 10 AM – 8:30 PM
- Friday: 10 AM – 12 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM
- Sunday: 11 AM – 2:30 PM
The Tuition Mill is a really well-organised maths tuition centre in Leeds. Every student starts with an assessment to figure out what they already know and where they need help.
From there, a fully tailored learning plan is created, with weekly sessions lasting about 60–70 minutes.
These sessions mix one-on-one attention with small group work. This way, students receive personal guidance while still benefiting from working alongside others.
Parents noticed the dedication of the tutors and staff. Teachers focus on understanding how each student learns and adjust their approach to get the best results.
We also loved the centre itself. It’s modern, bright, and well-equipped, making it a comfortable place to learn.
The Tuition Mill has strong results. Every student who came here had passed GCSE, A-Levels, SATs, and 11+ exams since the centre opened.
We don’t think they’re ideal for families looking for a lower-cost option, though. Their fees can be higher than average.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TUITION MILL!
“My son has been under the Tuition Mills help for around 3 years now. He used to be terrified of maths and felt really self conscious about it. Within no time his confidence and love for maths has grown so much and both kieran and seetal are just amazing, so kind and patient and just know exactly how to make him comfortable and explain things in a way he understands. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TUITION MILL! Thanks guys!”

Both the owners and the tutors have the students best interests at heart, they really get to know how their students learn and then use this to achieve the very best for them. The new centre is well equipped and a beautiful learning environment. I feel blessed that we found them and would always recommend their service.”
