The 5 centres locals trust for the best holistic therapy & wellness in Newcastle upon Tyne
Newcastle is one of the most anxious cities in the UK, according to a new study from YuLife. While the study is limited to anxiety towards the new work week, it’s a telling snapshot of how stressed and overextended people here often feel.
That’s probably why we’ve been seeing a lot of holistic therapy centres popping up in the city. Locals are realising that a good night’s sleep isn’t enough to resolve burnout. We have to care for our whole self: body, mind, and spirit.
That growing awareness is exactly why we took a closer look at the top holistic therapy and wellness centres in Newcastle. We talked to locals, compared credentials, and even tried some treatments firsthand to see what really works.
If you’re in need of a reset, these are the centres that we found genuinely helpful in holistic healing.
How much does a treatment at a holistic therapy and wellness centre cost in Newcastle?
A treatment at a holistic therapy and wellness centre in Newcastle typically costs £30 to £75 per session, depending on the duration and type of therapy. Follow-up sessions typically cost less than initial consultations too.
1. R&R Therapy

Contact details:

When it comes to the best reflexology in Newcastle upon Tyne, R&R Therapy is hard to beat. Much of that comes down to its founder, Rachel, whose background alone makes this an easy recommendation.
She’s a holistic therapist with 10 years of experience and a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies. She also undergoes additional training annually to keep her techniques up to date.
Credentials aside, what we really love about Rachel is how warm she is. Clients we talked to shared that Rachel has this calming aura that instantly made them feel comfortable.
We also appreciate that she’s very thorough during consultations. Rachel takes time to get to know her clients, understand how they’re feeling, and learn their goals. She also gently explains her insights and how the treatment will proceed.
This is likely why most clients reported feeling refreshed after the sessions.
In addition to reflexology, R&R Therapy offers Reiki, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and holistic facials. We appreciate this, as it shows the centre’s dedication to whole-person wellbeing.
If there’s a slight downside, it’s that Rachel is the only practitioner. R&R is also closed on weekends, so availability is even more limited.
Expert in reflexology; very professional and patient
“Rachel is an expert in reflexology! She is very professional and patient, she is a great listener and above all after every session I felt refreshed, relaxed but also energised. Incredible experience, even if you don’t have any health concerns it is just a great way to look after yourself.”
-Julija Martinkeviciute, Google Review

“I recently visited Rachel for reflexology, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. She was not only knowledgeable and skilled but also genuinely warm and attentive, making the entire experience relaxing and rejuvenating.”

Many locals we asked about the best massages in Newcastle recommended Wellness Centre Newcastle, so we had to check it out. What we found didn’t disappoint us.
We found the centre best suited to those seeking relief from physical pain. They offer chiropractic and osteopathic care, remedial massage, and sports therapy.
The team itself is impressive. It’s composed of chiropractors, osteopaths, and sports therapists. They also have a remedial massage therapist and a reflexologist.
When we spoke with clients, many appreciated that practitioners provided clear explanations of possible causes of the pain. This is highly valuable, as it helps clients better understand their bodies and avoid recurring pain.
Some clients reported that there’s some painful pressure during the massage, but the overall refreshed feeling they get after is well worth it.
We also appreciate how accessible the centre itself is. They offer free car parking, a children’s area, full baby-changing facilities, and wheelchair access.
One thing to note, though, is that they have pretty strict cancellation policies. Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid losing the deposit.
If you have a history of no-shows or cancellations on short notice and want to book them again, you’ll be required to pay for the treatment at the time of booking.
Polite and perfect treatment
“Very polite, perfect treatment. Will 100% be returning for regular treatment in the new year. Lovely staff. Took my kids along with me and it also no issue at all. Thank you.”

3. Shanti Bee – Holistic Wellbeing Centre & Yoga Studio

Address: Algernon Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6
Contact details:
Business hours:
- Mon-Sun: 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Wellness doesn’t have to break the bank, and that’s exactly the reason Shanti Bee made it to our list. Their standard rate for 60-minute holistic therapies is £45, while the 90-minute rate is £60.
The best part is that they also offer discounted rates (£35 for 60 minutes and £50 for 90 minutes) for students or those unemployed. If you join their Steady Souls program, a 60-minute therapy session is only £25. The value they offer is just unbeatable!
Shanti Bee also covers a broad range of holistic care. Massage options include pregnancy, holistic, and deep-tissue massage.
Beyond massages, they also do Reiki and Reflexology. We’d say their range really covers the mind, body, and spirit.
What Shanti Bee is probably most known for, though, is yoga. They offer over 20 yoga classes, including Ashtanga, Hatha, and Kundalini.
Their yoga instructors are some of the loveliest people we’ve met. When we tried to enroll in a class, we found the space very inclusive and welcoming. They explained what we were doing too, instead of just telling us to copy them.
The studio is a bit small, though. While comfortable, it can feel tight when classes are fully booked.
Lovely team; Really helpful in managing long term health conditions
“There are so many wonderful things to say about Shanti Bee….what a lovely team of people, the yoga teachers and therapists…everyone is friendly and very helpful. There are a great choice of yoga classes for all abilities, the massages are amazing prices for both really affordable (thank you). The courses available are also really helpful in providing support and information around many aspects of healing and managing various long term health conditions and mental health symptoms…Thank you”

Truly a holistic centre
“There’s so much available here – it is truly a holistic centre.
So much hard work has been put into creating this service for the community and it shows.
A clean, welcoming, and relaxing environment is waiting for you to explore.
Affordable, and something for all levels and needs – including clothes swaps, fairs, and other community events.
Also, look out for the Shanti Bee healing area at Lindisfarne festival!”

4. Sound Therapy North East

Address: 19 Lansdowne Ter, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 1HP
Contact details:
Business hours:
- Mon: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Tue-Thur: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Fri: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Sat-Sun: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Sound Therapy North East is probably one of the most interesting wellness centres in Newcastle upon Tyne. They use sound frequencies to calm the nervous system and help with various issues, including stress.
We love how highly personalised the treatments here are. They use a heart rate variability monitor to understand how the client’s body reacts to sound frequencies. They then create a tailored frequency based on the assessment.
We initially thought they had pre-recorded sounds and would adjust as the therapy progressed, so it’s good to know that everything is actually data-backed.
The founder, Edwina, is a certified Bio-Tuning® practitioner, so we’re confident that she knows exactly what she’s doing. This shows in the overflowing positive feedback we heard from clients too, many of whom reported feeling more at ease after the session.
One of our researchers, who struggles with sleep, actually tried this service. She said that during the sound session, she felt relaxed and almost fell asleep. She’s been considering continuing treatment in hopes of improving her sleep.
That said, this centre only focuses on sound therapy, unlike others that offer a wider range of choices. This isn’t the place for those looking for Reiki in Newcastle.
Very informative and reassuring
“I signed up for an introductory offer with Edwina at Sound Therapy North East. It’s the first time I’d ever tried sound therapy so I was not sure what to expect, but Edwina guided me through the session and was very informative and reassuring. It was a fully immersive experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are feeling stressed and anxious as I left the session feeling much calmer and at peace. Seeing the monitoring output on the computer which showed my physiological response to the sound therapy was astonishing! Thank you once again.”
-Kate McLoughlin, Google Review
It felt very restorative in general
“I had a really great experience of Bio-Tuning with Edwina. It felt very restorative in general, and sometimes quite enlightening! I always came away from the sessions feeling optimistic and looking forward to the next. I’ve also got a set of tracks to listen for the rest of my life, as and when my nervous system needs them 🥰 It’s such an interesting and unique therapy, I would highly recommend it!”

Temple of the Stars by Nat stood out for its loyal customer base. With an overwhelming positive recommendation and plenty or return clients, we just had to check what makes the place special.
For starters, Nat has a degree in psychology, which probably explains why she’s able to adapt to various clients. Many shared that they felt really heard and safe, even on their first visit, and appreciated how warm Nat was.
Her consultations are thorough. She genuinely tries to understand the issues you’re facing and your goals. She also answers questions with warmth and without judgment.
