1. Reiss Edwards

  • Saturday to Sunday: Closed

Our team included Reiss Edwards in this list because we were impressed by their strong foundation. They have over 80 years of combined experience in immigration, nationality, and human rights law.

They also go beyond standard visa applications. They deal with more complex issues like judicial reviews, deportation revocation, and sponsor licence applications for businesses.

A few of us were particularly impressed by how many niche immigration categories they cover. It’s not often you see a single firm handle everything from Tier 1 Investor visas to Europen Economic Area (EEA) family permits under one roof.

We also paid attention to what clients had to say, and Zarish Aslam kept popping up. People described her as professional, patient, and helpful.

One person even said Zarish made the process feel far less daunting and answered every question thoroughly. That support is not something we take for granted.

Their fees start at £100 for an initial consultation and range up to £3,500 for more complex visa types. We liked that they clearly list what these fees cover, such as application preparation and drafting, so you know what you’re paying for.

That said, some of the pricing is on the higher end. A child-dependent visa costs £2,000, more than what some other firms charge for the same service.

Pros

  • Over 80 years of combined experience
  • Wide range of services
  • Covers niche categories
  • Strong client feedback
  • Transparent pricing

Cons

  • Higher-end fees

What sets A Y & J Solicitors apart is how they assist entrepreneurs with the self-sponsorship visa route, which can be a confusing process for many.

We spoke to a former client whose story really helped us understand this better. He came to the UK as an international student and then got a Post-Study Work (PSW) visa. He wanted to stay in the UK by starting a business but didn’t know where to start.

Instead of just giving him a checklist, the A Y & J team guided him through every step. From the initial consultation to getting his sponsor license approved in just three days, they were there the whole way.

Most law firms mention business immigration, but only a few explain the process clearly or support people who don’t have a big company backing them. This seems to be one of their standout areas.

We also loved that they have a multilingual team. It might seem small, but if English isn’t your first language, being able to ask questions and get clear answers in your native tongue is a huge comfort.

That said, we did hear from some people who experienced some delays during their application. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re working on a tight schedule.

Pros

  • Expertise in self-sponsorship visa
  • Step-by-step guidance
  • Clear explanation
  • Support for business owners without corporate backing
  • Multilingual team

Cons

  • A few reports about delayed applications

Business hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 6 PM
  • Saturday to Sunday: Closed

Website

Sunrise Solicitors handles a wide range of immigration issues, including family visas, work permits, and even student visas.

We noticed, though, that most of the clients went to them for help with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) applications, and they seem to be very good at those. They had strong success rates and knew the process well.

Clients often mentioned how professional and clear the team was. A few even pointed out specific solicitors like Omar and Usman, saying they were very thorough and took the time to explain things clearly.

We also liked that they offer a free initial consultation. You can choose how you want to do it, either by phone, live chat, or email. That makes it easier for people to reach out without pressure.

It’s great that they offer fixed-fee pricing, so you know the cost upfront. However, some of their fees can be quite high, especially for more complex cases like ILR or dependent relative visas. These can go up to £3,000 or more.

They do offer payment plans, but even then, it could be tough for someone on a tight budget. Also, their fees cover only their legal work and don’t include Home Office charges or court fees. It’s important to ask about the total cost before getting started.

Pros

  • Wide range of services
  • Strong with ILR applications
  • Clear communication
  • Offer a free initial consultation
  • Fixed-fee pricing
  • Available payment plans

Cons

  • Higher fees for more complex cases
  • Fixed fees cover only legal work

Communication was prompt and efficient

“We had a great experience with Amir at Sunrise. He helped us with our UK Spouse Visa application and was a delight to deal with. His communication was prompt and efficient, which really helped our process! Would recommend for sure.”

I really appreciate the support and help from my case

“I’ve had a really good experience with Sunrise Solicitors with my partner’s dependent visa application, which was rejected once before. With the expertise of Mr. Usman Ahmad, this time, we managed to get a visa for my partner, which I’m really grateful for. I really appreciate the support and help from my caseworker.”

Westkin Associates was started by Amir Zaidi, who’s a big name in immigration and human rights. With over 20 years of experience, it really shows that the firm is built on serious expertise.

What stood out to us was that every lawyer on their team has at least 18 years of experience. That level of consistency shows us they’re very selective and serious about maintaining high standards.

They cover a wide scope of immigration services too, like investor and entrepreneur visas, appeals, and even asylum cases.

They’re also one of the few firms that seem to handle both corporate and personal immigration with equal focus.

We also liked that they’re genuinely international. Their team speaks over 20 languages, which is a game-changer for clients navigating UK immigration law from abroad.

In terms of pricing, we appreciated their fixed-fee structure. Knowing the cost in advance helps reduce one layer of stress. The 50% deposit model also seems fair, especially since most of the work is already done before the final payment.

That said, we did come across a few mentions of communication issues. One person said they booked a consultation and got an email confirmation and reminder, but no one ever called them.

It wasn’t a common complaint, but it’s something to consider if responsiveness is a top priority for you.

Pros

  • Lawyers have at least 18 years of experience
  • Wide range of immigration services
  • Handles both corporate and personal immigration
  • Over 20 languages
  • Transparent fixed-fee pricing
  • 50% deposit model

Cons

  • A few reports returning calls

Took the time to explain every aspect of my visa process clearly and thoughtfully

“I couldn’t be more grateful for the exceptional service I received from Westkin Associates, particularly from Ms. Ting Zhang. Ting’s professionalism and expertise were evident from the moment we started working together. She took the time to explain every aspect of my visa process clearly and thoughtfully, ensuring I understood each step along the way. Her attention to detail, patience, and calm approach made what could have been a stressful process feel straightforward and manageable. Thanks to Ting’s unwavering support and expert guidance, my visa was approved smoothly. I highly recommend Ting and Westkin Associates to anyone seeking knowledgeable, reliable, and dedicated legal assistance.”

Website

Cranbrook Legal covers a broad range of immigration needs. They do everything from personal visas and citizenship applications to more complex business visas for entrepreneurs.

One thing that stood out during our research was how they handle Sponsor Licence applications. This is especially important for businesses in sectors like care homes that often need to hire staff from overseas.

Several past clients we spoke to said their visas were approved surprisingly fast, sometimes in less than a week. That’s pretty impressive given how slow the Home Office can be.

It shows the Cranbook Legal team knows how to put together strong, clear applications that get results.

Another thing we noticed is that many clients appreciated not having to deal with all the paperwork themselves. The solicitors took care of everything, which helped reduce stress during what can be a complicated process.

We also liked that the firm also uses a fixed-fee pricing model. This means you know how much you’ll be paying from the start.

That said, it’s important to remember these fees don’t cover government charges or biometric costs, so you should factor those extra expenses in when budgeting.

Pros

  • Wide range of services
  • Strong track record with sponsor licenses
  • Fast visa approvals
  • Stress-free paperwork
  • Fixed-fee pricing

Cons

  • Additional costs not included in fixed fees

The whole process was very smooth

“Excellent experience with Cranbrook and Bilal – acquired our visa sponsorship license and then sponsored a candidate with their assistance. The whole process was very smooth and ran without and hiccups – would recommend”

Ben Anderson, Google review

They were efficient and friendly

“Was super impressed with Cranbrook Legal. They were efficient and friendly, and most importantly, really explained the process properly and simply. We secured our sponsor licence and first applicant. Thanks again to the team and definitely recommend them, particularly Sid, Yoghta and Tekhmeed, who we dealt with directly.”
